United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) President Pramod Boro has promised to work for the protection and preservation of the culture and language of every community in the Bodo Territorial Council.
Pramod Boro, who served as the president of All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) before joining UPPL, said his political party is quite different from the others.
Addressing a meeting at Tangla Higher Secondary School playground, he assured that if UPPL is voted to power in the Bodo Territorial Council, it would be ‘inclusive’ in its real terms.
Boro said every citizen will be identified as stakeholders and no representatives would be allowed to gain power in absolute terms and thereby provide a transparent and people friendly governance.
The UPPL leader said he joined politics to serve the people in the BTC areas, and will never misuse his position.
Boro alleged that the Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) lacked vision, and that was the reason for no industrial policies and skill development initiatives in the BTC.
The UPPL leader said his party will work round the clock to mould the power of the educated unemployed youth in a positive manner so that they play an active role in the development process of BTC.
Boro promised to provincialize all the schools in the Bodo belt if UPPL is voted to power.
Leader of the disbanded NDFB (P),Govindo Basumatary also addressed the gathering, and said, “We are determined to strengthen the peace and unity in the region and pave the way for development.”
