Two Assam girls to represent India in World Taekwondo Championship

Rodali Baruah and Dipika Hazarika of Assam have been selected to represent the Indian team at the World Taekwondo Championship to be held at Manchester.

The sporting event will be held in Manchester from May 15 to May 19 next.

The department of sports and youth welfare of Assam handed over a cheque of Rs 1.70 lakh each to Rodali and Dipika for getting selected in the Indian team.

Principal secretary of the department Biswaranjan Samal handed over the cheques to the two players.

Several bureaucrats were present on the occasion. While handing over the cheques, Samal extended his best wishes to the duo and hoped that they will bring laurels to the state along with the nation and will also fetch medals.

Rodali will participate in the above 73 kg category and Dipika in the below 46 kg category.

Rodali represented the Indian taekwondo team in Asian Games 2018 held at Jakarta in Indonesia.
