The Assam police has sent out a loud and clear message to the people in the state on New Year’s eve.
“This New Year’s eve, try not to be our guest,” the Assam police said.

Assam police also stated that it has arranged “special performance” by “DJ Lockup” for those who violate norms and end up at police lockups.
It has also ensured “free entry” for “rash drivers, drunk drivers and other eligible violators”.

The Assam Police has posted a quirky tweet, which has gone viral in the social media, rolling out special invitation for those who are planning to drink and drive on December 31.
“If your New Year’s Eve plans include drunk and/or rash driving, this invitation is for you. PS – Stag Entry Allowed,” the Assam police stated in its tweet.

Notably, the Assam police informed that it has taken a “strategic plan” to prevent accidents especially during the New Year celebrations.
Special measures and steps are being taken to prevent reckless driving and over speeding cases.
Notably, Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has ordered the state police department to ensure that no accidents take place during the New Year celebrations.
It may be mentioned here that for the past few days, Assam police has been conducting regular checks on drunken driving in Guwahati ahead of New Year.
Many driving licenses have been suspended along with heavy penalties being imposed.
