Former rebel leader and Tripura United Indigenous People’s Council (TUIPC) chief Rajit Debbarma has demanded proper rehabilitation and withdrawal of all cases against the surrendered militants of the state.
Tripura United Indigenous People’s Council (TUIPC) is an umbrella organisation of the surrendered militants of Tripura.
Debbarma, who was chief of militant outfit All Tripura Tiger Force (ATTF), said pending cases against them have not been withdrawn till today.
He said that they will meet the governor and chief minister seeking withdrawal of all cases against the former militants and proper rehabilitation package in accordance to the terms and conditions of the government’s rehabilitation policy.
Earlier, state law minister Ratan Lal Nath said that after the BJP-IPFT government assumed office, 925 cases pending against militants have been withdrawn.
