Polling in the third and final phase of the Assam Assembly election 2021 began at 7 am on Tuesday.
Till 11 am, Assam recorded 33.18% voter turnout.
Till 9 am, the voter turnout in the third phase of the Assam Assembly election was 12.83%.

Till 1 pm, the voter turnout recorded in the four Assembly constituencies under the Kamrup Metropolitan district was 46.75%.

According to Election Commission officials, Jalukbari Assembly constituency recorded 51% while Dispur constituency recorded 45%, Guwahati East constituency – 42% while Guwahati West constituency recorded 49% voter turnout.
In Guwahati, the overall polling percentage recorded till 9 am was 11.75%.
In this phase, a total of 79,19,641 voters will decide the fate of 337 candidates.

The voters are exercising their franchise to elect their representatives in 40 Assembly constituencies amid tight security.
People were seen waiting in long queues for vote in most of the polling stations in Guwahati and 12 other districts of Lower Assam, where voting in the third phase of Assam Assembly election is going on.
Face masks have been provided to the voters by the Election Commission as protective measures to prevent COVID19.
The polling for the first phase of Assam Assembly election was held on March 27 while the second phase of the election was held on April 1, 2021.
The counting of votes will be held on May 2, 2021.
According to the Chief Electoral Officer of Assam, Nitin Khade, a total of 79,19,641 voters, including 39,07,963 females, were eligible to cast their votes across 9,587 polling stations in 6,107 locations.
Of the 9,587 polling stations in the third phase of polls, 316 are all-women polling stations.
The CEO informed that around 32,000 Central Armed Police Forces along with thousands of state security force personnel have been deployed to maintain law and order during the final phase of election.
A total of 45,604 polling personnel have been engaged to conduct the election.
