Krishal Samik Unnayan Parishad (KSUP) on Friday lodged a third complaint against National Register of Citizens (NRC) coordinator Prateek Hajela alleging him of discrepancies in the final NRC list.
As per reports, the complaint had been filed at Dispur police station in Guwahati.
KSUP president Pradip Kalita said that the organization will move the Supreme Court if the police do not take any action against Hajela.
Apart from the complaint filed by KSUP, a member of the All India Legal Aid Foundation Chandan Mazumder filed an FIR against Hajela in Dibrugarh police station recently.
A case has been registered at the Dibrugarh Police Station under sections 120(B), 166/167 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Mazumder informed that he had submitted all necessary documents to prove his Indian citizenship including his family’s 1951 NRC.
“I am a bonafide citizen and my parents settled at Dibrugarh in 1947. But still my name has been excluded from the NRC’s final list,” said Mazumder.
Moreover, a complaint was also filed against Hajela by All Assam Goriya-Moriya Yuva Chatra Parishad (AAGMYCP) against discrepancies in NRC in Guwahati.
The final list of NRC was published on August 31, 2019 with exclusion of over 19 lakh people.
