Swarnim Vijay Mashaal received by Assam MLA Siddhartha Bhattacharya at War Memorial in Guwahati

As part of Swarnim Vijay Varsh celebrations, the Swarnim Vijay Mashaal (victory flame) arrived at the War Memorial in Guwahati’s Dighalipukhuri area. 

The Mashaal was received by Assam MLA Siddhartha Bhattacharya in presence of a large gathering of defence personnel, war veterans, NCC cadets and civilians.

The Swarnim Vijay Varsh is being celebrated to commemorate 50 years of India’s magnificent victory over Pakistan in 1971. 

Band of BSF played martial tunes in sync to commemorate the occasion.

Reception of Victory Flame was preceded by “Wreath Laying” ceremony by Siddhartha Bhattacharya, in remembrance to the fallen heroes who made the supreme sacrifice. 

The Mashaal commenced its journey from National War Memorial in New Delhi on December 16 last year.
