Immediately after Subodh Biswas was granted bail on Tuesday, the All Assam Students Union (AASU) has vehemently criticized the Assam government for producing a “poor chargesheet” that allows the main accused in the Silapathar vandalism incident in getting bail.
Hours after Biswas, Nikhil Bharat Bengali Udbastu Samannay Samitee (NBBUSS) president, got bail by the Gauhati High Court, AASU general secretary Lurin Jyoti Gogoi said that it’s because of the poor chargesheet that was filed against Biswas that allows him to get bail.

“We ask the Assam government to challenge the Gauhati High Court’s verdict in the Supreme Court,” Gogoi said adding “Subodh Biswas has hurt the sentiments of the people of Assam.”
He said that nobody in Assam will be allowed to create communal disturbance.
Biswa’s bail petitions were earlier rejected several times before he got bail on Tuesday. The bail was granted by the court of justice Mir Alfaz.

The NBBUSS president has been charged with abetting riots and fuelling enmity between two communities. Biswas and his aide were also charged with vandalizing the AASU office in Silapathar last year.
The Assam police had arrested Biswas from North-24 Pargana district of West Bengal in March.
