Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal with others during a review meeting with Lakhimpur DC on Thursday

“Bring more beneficiaries under schemes like Atal Amrit Abhiyan, Ayushman Bharat etc.” directed Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal to Lakhimpur DC Jeevan B.

Sonowal was reviewing the level of implementation of several government schemes in North Lakhimpur district on Thursday.

Sonowal also directed the DC to hold periodic review meetings at least once in 15 days to have constant monitoring on the implementation of schemes in the district.

Sonowal also asked the DC and heads of various departments in the district to extensively use government machinery for generating massive awareness in order to enable the people to enjoy the fruits of welfare schemes of the government.

While taking a review of the health department, Sonowal asked the joint director health to expeditiously administer Japanese Encephalitis (JE) vaccination among the people.

He also asked him to create mass awareness so that more and more people can avail benefits of schemes like Atal Amrit Yojna, Aayushman Bharat etc.

Sonowal further directed the district agriculture officer to use his men and machinery to achieve the objective of doubling farmers’ income by 2022, Sonowal.

He also asked the agriculture officer to sensitise the field level staffs of the department to take the agriculture schemes to the grassroots level.

Sonowal also took stock of the schemes like Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna and asked the P&RD Department to extend benefits of the scheme to all beneficiaries.

Sonowal further directed the water resource department officials to maintain the embankments in the district and repair even the slightest of the breach, if there is any, before the onset of the monsoon.
