Sivasagar MLA and Raijor Dal President Akhil Gogoi has written to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma over the deteriorating COVID-19 situation in the State.
Akhil Gogoi in his letter to Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma has blamed both the Centre and the Centre for the deplorable COVID-19 situation in the State,
“I am at pain to write that this grave situation was mostly the result of both the Government of India and Assam government’s mismanagement of the Covid-19 pandemic,” Akhil Gogoi stated in his letter to CM Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Akhil Gogoi in his letter to the Assam CM put forward as many as 11 suggestions to tackle the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic in the State.

Akhil Gogoi suggested that “the Government of Assam should urgently arrange for free of cost mass vaccination programme at micro-level.”
“The government should urgently consider vaccine vans so that vaccine can be rolled out at door steps,” added Akhil Gogoi.
“More numbers of temporary hospital facilities for COVID-19 patients should be arranged on a war-footing,” suggested Akhil Gogoi.
Speaking about livelihood and economy, Akhil Gogoi suggested that the prices of essential commodities be “closely regulated”.

“The economically marginalised sections of the State (affected by COVID-19)… should be provided with a monthly grant of Rs 5000,” added Akhil Gogoi.
