Labong Sports Club, Shillong lifted the champions trophy in the 23rd edition of Bodoland Gold Cup Football Tournament by defeating Yarkhok United FC Manipur by 2-1 goals here at Dimakuchi Stadium along the
Indo-Bhutan border in Udalguri district on Sunday.
In the keenly-contested final, Joseph Mayuwa of Yarkhok United FC gave the first goal in 34 minutes of first half while Ejjingmut Lyngdoh of Laban Sports Club netted two goals in 37th minute and 19th minute of
first half and second half respectively.

The event organised by the All Bodo Students’ Union ABSU Dimakuchi Ancholik and Dimakuchi Sports
Association was graced as chief guest by Deputy Chief of Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC), Kampa Borgoyary, along with host of dignitaries from Royal Bhutan Kingdom, founder chairman of National Democratic Front of Bodoland,Ranjan Daimari,Executive Members of BTC, Jagadish Sarkar, Lmwshrao Daimari, among Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament Biswajit Daimari among others.
The champions were handed over a trophy and cheque worth Rs 50,000 while the runners-up were handed over a trophy and a cheque of Rs 30,000.
