The Kokrajhar district committee of All Bodo Students’ Union (ABSU) has urged the state government to keep only the people from the district in the quarantine centres of Kokrajhar.

Requesting the same, the ABSU even submitted a memorandum to state health Himanta Biswa Sarma through the Kokrajhat Deputy Commissioner.

“We are aware of your tireless efforts and hard work for preventing the spread of coronavirus in the state,” the memorandum stated.

“We are also aware of the partial lockdown imposed in the district and about the different quarantine centres that have been set-up here,” the memorandum added

“In these centre people from nearby districts, apart from those belonging to the Kokrajhar district, have also been quarantined,” the memorandum further said.

“Concerns are being raised in this regard by various individuals and organisations. Therefore, we would like to request you to kindly shift the people of other places to their respective districts and keep only the Kokrajhar natives in the quarantine centres of our district,” the memorandum said.

The memorandum was signed by ABSU Kokrajhar district president Janak Uzir and secretary Swmdwn Basumatary.
