Barpeta’s one Saranga Sarma tied the nuptial knot with Barasha Goswami of Gobindapur village amid the nationwide lockdown.

Both bride and the groom followed the lockdown norms and wore a mask, used hand sanitizer and performed the marriage formalities in the presence of limited guests.

The groom’s family even distributed around 100 facemasks to the people of the locality.

The locals termed it as ‘lockdown marriage’ and hey blessed the couple and wished them a happy future.

“Life will have to move on even during the lockdown. The marriage was conducted following every lockdown protocol,” said a groom’s relative.

“We strictly followed the social distancing norms. The marriage was conducted in a sober manner and we did not indulge in an extravagant celebration,” the relative added.
