The COVID-19 death tally in Assam rose to 875 after seven more patients succumbed to the infection on Monday.

The deceased are Tkakur Das Paul (60) of Kamrup (Metro), Premodhar Baruah (90)of Jorhat, Lakeshwari Gogoi (70) of Golaghat, Jagadish Pd Agarwala (92) of Tinsukia, Khanindra Mohan Goswami (62) of Kamrup (Metro), Prabha Bala Baishya (65) of Kamrup (Metro), and Farida Bhermat (42) of Kamrup (Metro).

 

Meanwhile, 698 new COVID-19 cases were detected in Assam on Monday, taking the overall tally to 2,01,407.

The new cases were detected out of 34,956 tests conducted in the last 24 hours, with a positivity rate of 2 per cent.

Moreover, 1530 patients were discharged from various hospitals and COVID-19 care centres on Monday.

So far 85.99 per cent of the total COVID-19 patients have recovered in Assam.

The active rate is 13.56 per cent and the death rate is 0.43 per cent.
