A truck that was seized by police was set on fire by unidentified persons in Assam’s Dhubri district.
The incident occurred in Sagolia located near the Assam-West Bengal interstate border.
The truck that was set on fire was seized as it was allegedly being used to smuggle 30 cattle heads on December 26, 2021. Two persons were also arrested along with the truck.
Due to the lack of parking space at the Sagolia Police Outpost, the police had kept the truck near the highway.
However, after the police parked the truck, some unidentified persons set the truck on fire.
Dhubri Superintendent of Police Abhijit Gaurav said, “Some unidentified persons tried to burn the trucks bearing Registration No RJ05 GA 8385 ( TRAILER) in the midnight of Thursday”.
“Following the fire, police reached the sport and fire tenders were immediately called to put off the fire to stop further spreads to nearby buildings”, said Abhijit.
Police have initiated the necessary investigation to nab the miscreants involved in the incident.
This is the second such incident in December.
Earlier, on December 19, unidentified persons had torched another seized truck at the Soulmari Police Patrol Post premises in Dhubri district.
