Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said that the 16th century vaishnavite saint Srimanta Sankardev is an unrivalled guide and philosopher and following his teachings we can make Assam as one of the most powerful and resourceful states.
Speaking at the 25th Kendriya Sishu, Yuva and Aimatri Samaroh organized by Srimanta Sankardev Sangha at Balipara in Sonitpur districton Sunday, Chief Minister Sonowal said that the teachings of Srimanta Sankardev have supreme potential in empowering our society and be an ideal pathfinder to the world.
Stating that the world at present is confronted with several challenges, he observed that teachings of Srimanta Sankardev can provide a way out of such challenges. He, appealed to everybody to follow the teachings of the Gurujona to reign over all the evil forces. He said ‘Guru Shakti’ and ‘Guru Bhakti’ are the supreme forces which can steer us through any darkness and lead us to enlightenment. Moreover, he said mothers are great teachers and one should follow advices of mothers.
Referring to the state government’s commitment to maintain sanctity of the satras, Sonowal said his government carried out extensive eviction drives for clearing encroachments from the satras. He also said such drives will continue to save satras from encroachers.
