Rastriya Swayamsewak Sangh’s (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Friday afternoon arrived in Silchar in a three-day visit.
The RSS chief landed at Kumbhirgram airport here at 2:30 pm by a Spicejet flight from New Delhi.

Immediately after landing at the airport, he headed straight to RSS Cachar district organizational headquarters, Keshav Niketan at Ambicapatty in Silchar.
Subrangshu Sekhar Bhattacharjee, karyalay pramukh of Silchar said Bhagwat will on Friday take part in pracharak bhaithak to be held at Vivekandanda Kendriya Vidyalaya in Ramnagar, on the outskirts of Silchar.
“Chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal is scheduled to reach Silchar on Friday evening and a one to one close door meeting with RSS chief would take place on Saturday evening at Keshav Niketan.”

During his series of pracharak bhaithaks in the next two days, he would meet RSS units coming from other parts of Assam and Northeastern states on Sunday from 3 pm to 6 pm, Bhattacharjee said.
Tripura chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb would also reach Silchar on Sunday afternoon and meet the RSS chief.
Bhagwat will also deliver a speech at Silchar’s Rajiv Bhavan auditorium on Saturday evening at 5 pm on the ideologies of the RSS.
