The Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel of Guwahati has arrested two women from the Kanchanjungha Express and seized a few packets of cannabis from their bags.
The RPF and GRP personnel recovered the cannabis during their routine checking on the Kanchanjungha Express on Monday.
The ladies were handed over to the officer-in-charge of the GRP, Guwahati for further legal action.
On the other hand, RPF personnel also arrested a thief on charges of stealing the bag of one passenger from the platform of the Kamakhya Railway Station in Guwahati.
After receiving complaints of the theft, RPF personnel checked the CCTV footage to identify the suspect.
The accused was nabbed outside the railway station while he had been making his way towards the pit line.
