The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Northeast Frontier Railway conducted raids at Jagiroad and Araria and nabbed three touts.

The RPF personnel recovered a total of 15 e-tickets within 48 hours from the possession of the touts

RPF personnel also rescued three minor girls at Katihar in distressed condition along with one runaway girl at Alipurduar Junction, the NF Railway said in a statement.

On specific information, on July 29, 2021, at about 12:55 pm, the RPF personnel of Chaparmukh post conducted a raid and search at Hujail Computer Centre situated at Baramari under Jagiroad PS in Morigaon district.

During checking, the team of RPF apprehended the owner of the shop, Hujail Ahmed, a resident of Baramari under Jagiroad PS and recovered 8 railway e-tickets (5 live e-tickets, valued Rs. 14,252 and 3 used e-tickets, valued Rs. 573) worth Rs. 14,825.

“These e-tickets were generated through his own personal IDs. One laptop, one mobile phone were also seized. In this connection, a case has been registered at RPF Post, Chaparmukh,” said a statement issued by Subhanan Chanda, chief public relations officer of NF Railway.

On July 27, 2021, acting on information regarding touting activities by Mithun Digital Studio, located at Madanpur Bazar under Madanpur PS in Araria district, RPF personnel at Purnea post conducted a decoy check.

During decoy check, it was found that 1 e-ticket was booked from ex-Araria Court to Danapur and it was generated by using personal user ID.

Immediately, the team headed by IPF, Purnea with the assistance of local police of Madanpur conducted a raid and search at the shop and apprehended two persons.

In another incident, on July 28, 2021, the RPF personnel of Katihar post rescued three minor girls, aged 9 years, 14 years and 15 years in distressed condition at Katihar railway station.

“All of them are from Chirang, Assam. Later, the rescued girls were handed over to Childline, Katihar for safe custody and further course of action,” the statement said.

Again on July 28, 2021 at about 8:45 pm during check at Alipurduar Junction, on-duty RPF staff of RPF of Alipurduar Junction post rescued one runaway girl, aged 19 years.

Later, the rescued girl was handed over to her mother after proper identification.
