After the induction of two new ministers, Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal also made a reshuffle in the portfolios of his ministers on Saturday.

While few ministers lost some of their departments, some others have been given more responsibilities.

Siddhartha Bhattacharya, who was holding the education department, has been relieved of the department.

However, he retains the Guwahati development department. He has been given the responsibility of the cooperation department which was earlier held by Rihan Daimary.

Rihan Daimary has only the public health engineering department.

Himanta Biswa Sarma, who was earlier holding the charge of the education department, has again been handed over the department.

Bhabesh Kalita has been made the minister of state for education. However, Kalita has been relieved of the revenue department.

Bhabesh Kalita continues to be the minister of state for irrigation with independent charge.

The newly-inducted minister Jogen Mohan has been made the minister of state for revenue with independent charge.

Mahan has also been made the minister of state for power and PWD.

In the PWD, he will assist Cabinet minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Another newly-inducted minister Sanjoy Kishan has been made minister of state tea community development department with independent charge. He has also been made minister state for labour welfare.

Chief minister Sarbananda is currently holding the labour welfare department.

Meanwhile, the minister of state for health & family welfare Pijush Hazarika has been given additional charge of the town and country planning.

Minister Pijush Hazarika, who is very close to powerful minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, now has urban development and town & country planning with independent charge.
