Police in Doboka area of Hojai district, Assam have arrested three main accused out of the five miscreants who allegedly gang-raped a young girl in the Dighalijarani area under Doboka police station, as per reports.
The three main accused arrested have been identified as Golap Hussain, Sajid Ahmed and Dilwar Hussain of Doboka Lalmati village.
The other two men who are absconding have been identified as Abdul Motin and Alim Uddin.
Police have, however, also detained one close relative of the victim, Faizal Islam, who is the victim’s brother-in-law.
The gruesome act happened when the girl was on her way back home with her brother in law after visiting a relative’s house. As per reports, when the two reached a dense forest, the brother-in-law went away into the jungle alone.
Soon after, a group of five miscreants attacked the girl and dragged her into the jungle where they raped her and recorded the whole incident on their mobile phones.

Subsequently, the entire video was shared over the social media.
It was after the video went viral over the social media, the parents of the victim came to learn about the incident and immediately the father of the victim lodged an FIR at Doboka Police Station on April 23.
Upon investigating the video in detail, the police identified all of the five accused in the crime.
Police have also mentioned that although the incident took place few weeks ago, neither the victim nor the victim’s brother-in-law spoke about it to their family members.
This led to the suspicion of the police that the brother-in-law, Faizal, may be involved in the whole incident.
