Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay foundations for two medical colleges in Assam – Charaideo and Biswanath Chariali, during his visit to the State on February7.
PM Modi is also slated to inaugurate Assam Government’s road project ‘Assam Mala’.
“PM Narendra Modi will lay the foundation of two medical colleges in Biswanath Charali and Charaideo. He will also inaugurate State Government’s road project ‘Assam Mala’,” informed Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Notably, February 7’s visit of M Modi will be the second in a fortnight ahead of the Assembly elections in the State.
Elections to 126-member Assam Legislative Assembly is likely to be held during April-May this year.
PM Narendra Modi had visited Assam on January 23.
PM Modi had launched the allotment of land ‘pattas’ (land allotment permit) to 1,06,940 landless indigenous people at the historic Jerenga Pothar in Sivasagar.
Besides PM Narendra Modi, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman would also visit Guwahati on Saturday.
Sitharaman will launch the distribution of financial assistance of Rs 3,000 to each of around eight lakh tea garden workers in the state.
