A joint meeting between the representatives and officials of the three districts – West Karbi Anglong of Assam, West Jaintia Hills and Ri-bhoi districts of Meghalaya regarding inter-state border issue was held at Nongpoh Circuit House of Meghalaya on Thursday.

The joint meeting was held in the wake of the passing of a resolution by Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) on the first day of their three-day winter session on Tuesday, urging the Central government, Meghalaya government, Assam government and Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council to re-transfer the land of Block – I and Block – II from Karbi Anglong in Assam.
In the meeting it came to conclusion that the inter-state border issue should be discussed with Central government by both the State governments and the matter has been left to respective State governments to resolve the same.
Executive Member (EM), Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), Rupsing Teron, Baithalangso MLA Dr Mansing Rongpi, Deputy Commissioner of West Karbi Anglong, Devajyoti Hazarika; SP, Mrinal Talukdar, Deputy Secretary, KAAC, Micheal Timung, Assistant Revenue Officer, Dilip Teron and DFO, Hamren, Borsing Bey were present from West Karbi Anglong of Assam.

While Ri-bhoi district was represented by its Deputy Commissioner R M Kurbah and Superintendent of Police, Spill Thamar while the Deputy Commissioner and the Superintendent of Police of West Jaintia Hills represented their district of Meghalaya.
