One person was seriously injured on Wednesday night while unidentified miscreants made a murder attempt on him at Paharpur village under Tamulpur police station along Indo-Bhutan border in Assam’s Baksa district.
The injured has been identified as 30-year-old Helarush Kisku, son of Eduward Kisku of Paharpur village under Nagrijuli Development Block in Baksa district.
Locals said, “On Wednesday night, at about 7.45 pm, some youths of Paharpur village found Helarush Kisku lying on the road in front of his own house with severe injury marks on his neck and various parts of his body.”
As the news spread, a number of villagers gathered at the spot along with the village headman and a local media person.
With the help of locals, the media person made arrangement for sending seriously injured Helarush Kisku to Tamulpur PHC in critical condition.
Helarush was provided primary treatment by the doctor on duty, Gautam Medhi and his staff.
After providing primary treatment, Helarush was referred to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) and he was sent in a 102 vehicle (ambulance).
Some media persons helped in arranging the ambulance as Helarush has no other family members to attend him.
According to information, Helarush has already lost his father and his mother, who has been suffering from psychiatric problem, also does not reside at their home and move from place to place.
The miscreants managed to escape from the spot taking advantage of darkness after attacking Helarush with sharp weapon.
Till filing of this report, the motive behind the attack is yet to be ascertained.
Helarush has reportedly been admitted to GMCH and is undergoing treatment at the hospital in Guwahati.
