The troops of Assam Rifles on Friday seized drugs worth over Rs 8.58 crore in Manipur’s Moreh along Indo-Myanmar border.
The Assam Rifles personnel posted at Chavangphai during a security check seized 4.29 kg of brown sugar near Indo-Myanmar border on Thursday evening.

The troops also seized one TVs scooter from the area.
A top official of Assam Rifles said the Assam Rifles personnel had spotted one suspicious person on a TVS scooter, while the person was coming from Myanmar to Manipur side.
When the security personnel signalled the accused to stop, the person fled from the spot leaving behind his scooter and three bags.

Later, the Assam Rifles troops handed over the seized items to Moreh police station for further investigation.
