The lawyers claimed because of the restrictions in the lower courts, thousands of cases are now pending, and people are being denied justice because of the delay.

They said even schools and colleges in the state have been reopened, and there was no reason for the lower courts to function in such a guarded manner.

The members of Mangaldai Bar Association said normal functioning of the lower courts should not be a problem because the pandemic situation in Assam is totally under control.

The lawyers said Assam government figures showed a remarkable improvement in the pandemic situation in the state with 97.45 recovery rate and hardly 0.45 mortality rates.

The delegation of Mangaldai Bar Association was led by Madhab Chandra Rajbongshi and Hemanta Kumar Sarma.
