Meanwhile, LDP Assam has extended support to the all India strike called by 10 central trade unions of the country on Thursday (November 26).

LDP state president Guna Gogoi in this regard said: “We support this strike. The government is operating on ‘Profit Before People’ principle. The privatisation moves are designed to benefit the big corporations.”

“Government should understand the difference between ‘pro-business’ and ‘pro-market’. Polices should always be pro-market. But when you make pro-business policies keeping in mind the interest of corporation then it is nothing but crony capitalism,” Gogoi added.

LDP demanded that the privatisation of the state’s resources by Centre be opposed by the state government.
