Guwahati: A fuel station at Ten Mile in Jorabat was partially covered by debris on Friday after part of the hillside behind it collapsed along the Assam-Meghalaya border.
The falling material included soil, rocks and other debris, which reached across almost half of the station premises.
Two vehicles at the site were struck by the debris and sustained minor damage, according to a video of the incident.
Several videos from the site were circulated on social media after the landslide.
The collapse occurred near a busy fuel station and caused panic in the area. No injuries or deaths have been reported so far.
Officials are assessing the damage at the site. They will also inspect the remaining hillside to check if more soil could come down.
The road runs through areas where sections of the hillside have been cut, with heavy rain sometimes leading to landslides.
Authorities are continuing to assess the site, with further details expected.
