General officer commanding-in-Chief of Indian Army’s Eastern Command – Lt General Anil Chauhan took stock of the operational preparedness as well as counter insurgency operations in Assam, Nagaland and Manipur. 

Lt General Anil Chauhan is on a 3-day visit to the States of Assam, Nagaland and Manipur. 

He also visited units and formations of Spear Corps and Assam Rifles in Nagaland and Manipur. 

Lt General Anil Chauhan visit started o April 27 and will conclude on Thursday (April 29).

He was also briefed on the progress made in regards to the ongoing Naga Peace Talks. 

Lt General Anil Chauhan also visited various Army and Assam Rifles Headquarters of Spear Corps in Nagaland and Manipur to take stock of situation on ground where he was briefed by senior Army officials.  

He also interacted extensively with the men deployed in the operational areas of Northeast.

He appreciated the state of preparedness and conduct of counter insurgency operations in the region.
