On the basis of secret information that some persons were carrying drugs, a total of 11 plastic bottles full of suspected narcotics and brown sugar have been seized by police from a place near Silchar in Cachar district.
Among the three persons who have been arrested by a team of Udharbond Police at 7 pm on Wednesday, one is woman.
Along with the three persons, arrested in connection with the case, the police also seized a car.
The persons who have been arrested by Udharbond Police have been identified as 25-year-old Bahar Uddin, son of late Moinul Mozumdar of Sadin Bazar under Sonai Police Station, 32-year-old Abdul Ruf, son of late Ilas Ali of Kachudaram village under Kachudaram Police Station and 27-year-old Marcy Kuki , wife of Saidul Laskar of Ramnagar village under Sonai Police Station.
The car which has been seized by the police is a Maruti WagonR (No AS 11 J 0477).
During interrogation, it came to light that they collected the suspected drugs from Manipur and were carrying to Sonai of Cachar district. The police have already started investigation into the case.
