Bordumsa based 23 Punjab Regiment of Indian Army apprehended a hardcore NSCN (K) cadre at Assam-Arunachal border of Koriajan area under Bordumsa Police Station in Tinsukia district in eastern Assam.
The cadre of the banned militant organization identified as self styled SS Corporal Laichat Wangpan of Pumaon Basti of Longding admitted of his active and long association with the organization since 2011 in various anti-social activities.

Meanwhile, formal sources informed that the security forces have long been chasing the said cadre who has been moving around Bordumsa area with some ulterior motives.
According to sources, he fell into the net of the security forces on late Sunday evening during a special operation launched for the purpose in Bordumsa-Koriajan area.
The apprehended militant was handed over to Bordumsa Police in Tinsukia District for further investigations and prosecution.

No formal recovery from the possession of the accused cadre was reported till filling the report.
It may be added here that Bordumsa being the border area between Assam-Arunachal have often fell prey to various anti-social activities including kidnapping, extortion and drug trafficking and the militant outfits belonging to different organizations have been using the place as safe hideouts to give the security agencies a slip.
