Guwahati: A three-day Regional Mentoring Session (RMS) on Innovation will be held from February 4 to 6, 2026, at Girijananda Chowdhury University (GCU), Guwahati.
Organized by the Ministry of Educationโs Innovation Cell in collaboration with NCERT and the Department of School Education & Literacy (DoSEL), the program is aimed at teachers and students of PM SHRI schools. The session seeks to foster ideation, design thinking, and solution-oriented skills in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The Guwahati chapter will be led by Nandajit Rabha, Nodal Centre Head from the MoE Innovation Cell, in coordination with S. Robert Ravi, Dean, School of Engineering and Technology, GCU, serving as the universityโs Single Point of Contact (SPOC).
Participants will attend technical workshops conducted in collaboration with experts from the Wadhwani Foundation, a global non-profit focused on entrepreneurship and job creation. The workshops will introduce structured innovation frameworks such as โSpark Questโ and the D.I.S.R.U.P. T model, along with foundational sessions on Design Thinking, AI in school innovation, and prototype development. The program also includes practical exposure through a visit to the universityโs Incubation Centre.
The session aims to transform PM SHRI schools into hubs of creativity, enabling them to mentor neighboring schools and create a collaborative ecosystem of innovation in the region. Officials said the initiative will equip young innovators with the 21st-century skills needed to convert classroom ideas into tangible, real-world solutions.
