In order to monitor the compliance of government directions for maintaining home quarantine norms by the Covid19 positive patients home quarantine committees have been constituted in the Kamrup Metro district.
In an order, Kamrup Metro deputy commissioner Biswajit Pegu said: “In pursuance of the Government order no. HLA.270/2020/Pt/74”, issued on April 24, 2021, “Home Quarantine Committees are hereby constituted in Kamrup Metropolitan District to monitor the compliance of government directions for maintaining Home quarantine norms by the COVID19 positive patients allowed for home quarantine facility”.

The respective circle officers and officer-in-charges of all police stations in the district will notify the village-wise/ward-wise/apartment-wise Home Quarantine Committees immediately.
The committees will involve representatives from civil and police administration, PRIs, Gaon burhas, Nagarik committees, residents welfare association members in respect of apartments, retired teachers, local NGOs and conscious citizens, the order said.

“The committees so constituted will monitor maintenance of home quarantine norms by the COVID-19 positive patients during the stipulated time for home quarantine in case to case basis,” the Kamrup Metro DC, who is also the chairman of district disaster management authority (DDMA) said.
The order said “in case of violation of home quarantine norms, the committee will file complaints to the local police station and the concerned police station will convert the complaint into FIR and proceed for legal action against the person violating the home quarantine norms”.
“Further, if any government officials” are “found violating home quarantine norms, the committee will intimate to the district administration and district administration will initiate departmental proceeding against such defaulter government employee”, the order further said.
The Covid19 situation in Kamrup Metro district continues to remain grim.
On Sunday, Assam registered 14 new COVID19 related deaths out of which Kamrup Metro alone reported 8 deaths.
A total of 791 cases were detected in the Kamrup Metro district in the last 24 hours.
