Assam’s COVID-19 woes rise: 14 deaths and 1844 fresh cases, positivity rate shoots up to 5.48%

COVID-19 deaths were reported from as many as 7 districts in Assam on Sunday.  

COVID-19 deaths were reported from the districts of: Kamrup-Metro – 8, KamrupRural – 1, Barpeta – 1, Dibrugarh – 1, Morigaon – 1, Sonitpur – 1 and Nalbari – 1.  

Assam’s COVID-19 death toll has risen to 1200.

Moreover, Assam further logged nearly 2000 COVID-19 positive cases on Sunday.  

A total of 1844 new COVID-19 positive cases were detected in Assam on Sunday.   

As many as 791 cases have been detected from in and around Guwahati city.  

The other districts with high COVID-19 caseloads are: Dibrugarh – 190, Kamrup-Rural – 82 and Nagaon – 83.  

With the detection of these 1844 fresh COVID-19 cases in Assam, the State’s active cases tally has crossed the 15,000-mark.

Assam, at present, has 15470 active COVID-19 cases.  

Assam’s COVID-19 positivity rate was recorded at 5.48 percent on Sunday, which has raised serious concerns.  

The 1844 cases recorded in Assam on Sunday were detected after conducting tests of 33674 samples.
