Tripura: Northeast Now Agartala correspondent Tanmoy Chakraborty dies of post COVID complications

Agartala correspondent for Northeast Now – Tanmoy Chakraborty passed away on Sunday.

At the time of demise, Tanmoy Chakraborty was just 39 years old. 

Tanmoy Chakraborty passed away at 8:20pm on Sunday. 

He had tested positive for COVID-19 on April 16, after he got admitted to the Tripura Medical College for treatment of a chronic liver ailment.

Later, on April 21, Tanmoy Chakraborty tested negative for COVID-19. 

However, soon after that his medical condition deteriorated and was shifted to ILS hospital in Agartala, where on Sunday he breathed his last. 

Tanmoy Chakraborty had also gone to Coma once in the last couple of days, informed a family member. 

However, his situation had improved a bit on Sunday morning. 

But later in the evening, Tanmoy Chakraborty suffered a massive cardiac arrest, which he could not survive.

Tanmoy Chakraborty leaves behind his ageing parents, wife and a five-year-old daughter. 

He was a resident of Agartala. 

Meanwhile, the media fraternity in Tripura has expressed shock over the sudden demise of Tanmoy Chakraborty. 

“He was a very promising journalist in Tripura,” said Secretary of Agartala Press Club Pranab Sarkar in a statement.
