Around 1500 students exhibited their talents through painting in the State level art competition in Guwahati on Sunday organised by Assam Police as a part of Assam Police Day celebration.

The school children, who participated in the art competition, were able to draw the attention of the Director General of Police (DGP), Assam, Kuladhar Saikia,

The event was organised at the mini stadium of Assam Police Housing Complex near the office of the DGP at Ulubari in the city.

Students from Class II to Class X from different schools across the State participated in the event.

Expressing his happiness, DGP Saikia said, “It was an amazing feeling today to be among the kids. The kids have drawn pictures on different themes including flood, nature, and rhino poaching which were very much attractive. These kind of activities are necessary for the mental growth of the students.”

Saikia also said, “Such events make the students stress-free as they have to bear a lot of stress in this competitive world. We will organise the event in a bigger next year.”

The art competition was followed by quiz competition among the students.

Expressing his feelings after attending the art competition, DGP Saikia in his Twitter handle stated: “Feels wonderful to be around children. Nearly 1500 kids from all over the state including Barak Valley and even Kolkata participated in the Art Competition held as a part of Assam Police Day celebrations.”

“One step in our endeavour to be one with the citizens,” Saikia tweeted further.

Some of the guardians also expressed happiness during interactions with Northeast Now.
