The Girijananda Chowdhury Institute of Pharmaceutical Science (GIPS) Guwahati celebrated World Pharmacists’ Day at the college premises in Azara in presence of all the faculty members, students and staff.
A number of programmes were organised at the GIPS Guwahati premises to mark the celebration of World Pharmacists’ Day.

The Day was celebrated following the Covid protocol.
‘Pharmacy: Always trusted for your health’ was the theme of this year’s World Pharmacists Day.

The celebration started with the flag hoisting by Shrimanta Shankar Academy Society president Ratul Das.
While delivering the inaugural speech, Ratul Das spoke on the responsibilities and duty of the pharmacists in the present situation.
Assam Science and Technology University (ASTU) Academic Registrar Dr BR Phukan attended the event as the chief guest.
In his speech, Prof. (Dr.) Gouranga Das, Principal, GIPS Guwahati, spoke on the significance of World Pharmacists’ Day and this year’s theme.
Various cultural performances were presented by the faculty members and students of the institute.
Many students also participated in the programme virtually.
Keeping in view of World Pharmacists’ Day, a newsletter titled ‘Gips Let’ was also released.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr Smritirekha Chanda Das, HoD, Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, GIPS Guwahati.
