The GIPS-Tezpur celebrated World Pharmacists’ Day in the college premises at Tezpur in Assam’s Sonitpur district on Saturday.
Dr. Abdul Baquee Ahmed, the Principal of Girijananda Chowdhury Institute of Pharmaceutical Science (GIPS) Tezpur marked the initiation of the event by hoisting the flag along with Dr. Dipal Baruah, Principal, Girijananda Chowdhury Institute of Management and Technology (GIMT) Tezpur.
The flag hoisting event was attended by all the faculty members, students and other supporting staff members of the college.
The occasion was inaugurated by lighting of the lamp by the Principal of GIPS-Tezpur and the invited guest, Principal of GIMT-Tezpur.

They delivered their valuable speeches on the theme ‘Pharmacy: Always trusted for your health’.
One of the D. Pharm 2nd year students, Sidhant Sarma, came up with a still painting of ‘Galen’, the Father of Pharmacy to pay tribute on the occasion.
The students of the college performed in various cultural programmes organised on the occasion.
A drama, prepared to create social awareness, was performed by the students on the theme ‘Treatment-related superstitions’.
Sandipan Choudhury, Assistant Professor and convenor of the World Pharmacists’ Day celebration at GIPS-Tezpur, wrapped up the programme by delivering a vote of thanks to all.
