The GIPS-Tezpur in Assam’s Sonitpur district celebrated its first foundation day on Tuesday in the college premises.
“It is indeed a proud moment for the entire GIPS family. We would like to express our gratitude to all the members who have contributed to the growth & success of our organization since the very beginning,” GIPS Tezpur said in a statement.
On the occasion of the foundation day, the institute paid rich tributes to the founder of GIPS, Late Bina Chowdhury.

Dr. Abdul Baquee Ahmed, Principal, Girijananda Institute of Pharmaceutical Science (GIPS)-Tezpur marked the occasion by hoisting the flag along with the Principal GIMT-Tezpur, Dr. Dipal Baruah.
The flag hoisting ceremony was attended by all the faculty members and other supporting staff and students.
GIPS-Tezpur also congratulated each and everyone for being a part of the esteemed institution.
The GIPS-Tezpur, founded in 2020, is the first pharmacy institute in Assam established under the Public Private Partnership (PPP model) by Shrimanta Shankar Academy Society and Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Assam.
The Shrimanta Shankar Academy Society is a registered service organization set up 1992 to make significant contributions for social upliftment through education and inculcate a sense of discipline among the youth.
GIPS-Tezpur is affiliated to Assam Science and Technology University, Government of Assam and approved by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), New Delhi and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), MHRD, New Delhi.
The institute offers two-year diploma programme, Diploma in Pharmacy (D. Pharm) and four-year undergraduate programme, Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm) from the academic session 2020-2021.
The prime objective of GIPS-Tezpur is to provide the best pharmaceutical education in Assam and the Northeast region.
