Four vehicles loaded with minor minerals were seized by a team of Special Task Force in Tinsukia district.

The interception was made during its routine patrolling on late Wednesday night at Lekhapani area under Digboi forest division

Forest officials informed that the intercepted vehicles did not bear any valid documents and were carrying boulders.

The vehicles intercepted bear the registration numbers AS-06-BC-5978, AR-16-6639, AS-01-DD-2143 and AS-01-AC-2749.

One of the arrested drivers during interrogation admitted to the offence.

The driver further informed that minor minerals were being transported from the nearby Kharsang area in Arunachal Pradesh without any valid documents.

The special task force is comprised of the rangers of Lekhapani, Margherita East and West ranges, OC of Lekhapani PS and other forest personnel.
