On the day of Shaptami of the Durga Puja festival, the former Chief Minister of the State Tarun Gogoi along with the Leader of Opposition in Assam Legislative Assembly, Debabrata Saikia, offered prayers to Goddess Durga at a puja mandap in Guwahati on Wednesday.

According to information, former Chief Minister Gogoi, who is the Congress MLA from Titabar constituency, was also accompanied by his wife Dolly Gogoi.

Debabrata Saikia, who is an MLA from Nazira constituency and Leader of the State Congress Legislature Party along with the Gogoi couple offered prayers to Maa Durga at the Panjabari Durga Mandir.

After offering prayers, Gogoi also shared several photographs of his visit to Panjabari Durga Mandir in the city along with his wife and CLP leader Debabrata Saikia.

Both the senior Congress leaders were felicitated by the Panjabari Durga Mandir puja organising committee.

Gogoi also addressed the devotees on the occasion.

On the other hand, State CLP leader Debabrata Saikia on her Twitter handle wished all the best to the people of Assam on the occasion of Ashtami of Durga Puja on Wednesday.
