Rongali Bihu is the lifeline of Assamese society and a year without Rongali Bihu celebration is unimaginable.
But in the wake of coronavirus pandemic, the Rongali Bihu celebration this year has been cancelled and this has dampened the spirits of many people.
At such a pensive situation, Arth: Art for Humanity– a Delhi-based NGO has made a modest endeavour to lighten up the stressed minds of Assamese people by bringing home the festival online via Instagram.
Another organization, Storyweavers have also extended their association to this initiative.
#BihuSocial is a first of its kind event on Instagram that will showcase the quintessential elements of Bihu like Bihu Geet, Bihu dance, Dhol Badan, Bihu Kunwori and songs by popular artists.
Popular actors and artists like Madhurima Chowdhury, Tanvi Sharma, Mridusmita Das Bora, Vreegu Kashyap, Ritrisha Sarma, Annanyya Kashyap, Sukanya Boruah and Nilakshi Neog have supported this endeavour.
To be held on Arth’s Instagram page, Arth Art for Humanity appeals everyone to stay home and follow their Instagram handle arth_art_for_humanity to stay updated about #BihuSocial.
Arth Art for Humanity was co-founded in January 2018 by Rittyz Kashyap and Irfan Khan and has been continuously working towards greater good using art as their tool.
