Dibrugarh: Director General of Assam Rifles, Lieutenant General Vikas Lakhera, on Thursday visited the Khonsa Battalion of Assam Rifles to review its operational preparedness.

During the visit, he interacted with officers, junior officers, and other ranks of the battalion.

As part of the visit, the Director General was shown new-generation equipment and surveillance systems integrated by the battalion.

He was briefed on the operational employment and effectiveness of these advanced systems and appreciated the battalionโ€™s efforts in adopting modern technology to address emerging security challenges effectively.

Lieutenant General Vikas Lakhera also spent time having tea with the troops, engaging in informal interaction and gaining firsthand insight into their experiences, challenges, and morale.

He commended all ranks for their professionalism, high morale, and dedication to duty, and exhorted them to continue maintaining the highest standards of discipline, operational readiness, and commitment to the nation.

He stressed the importance of continuous training, innovation, and teamwork in achieving mission success.

During the visit, the Director General also felicitated outstanding individuals of the Khonsa Battalion with the Director General Assam Riflesโ€™ Commendation Cards in recognition of their exemplary performance and dedication to duty.

The visit reinforced the Director Generalโ€™s review of the Khonsa Battalionโ€™s operational efficiency and the Assam Riflesโ€™ focus on modernisation, preparedness, and regional stability.
