The 51st DG-level talks between the Border Security Force (BSF) and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) began in Guwahati on Tuesday.
“It is for the first time that the bi-annual Director General (DG) level talks between the two border guarding forces is taking place in Assam,” the BSF said in a press communique.
The delegation of Border Guard Bangladesh is being led by the Director-General of BGB, Maj Gen Shafeenul Islam.

The Border Security Force (BSF) delegation of India is headed by the Director-General of BSF, Rakesh Asthana.
“They will discuss various aspects and issues related to border management,” the communique said.
They will also deliberate upon steps being taken to strengthen the security grid in a cohesive manner for the betterment of people living on the borders of both the neighbouring countries, it added.
The meeting will conclude with the signing of a joint record of discussions by both the Directors General of the BSF and the BGB.
