Derailment affects train services in eastern Assam

Train services in eastern Assam have been affected on Sunday due to derailment of a goods train.

The goods laden train derailed at about 6:40 am on Sunday between Naharkatia and Duliajan station under Tinsukia division of N F Railway.

As a result, the running of trains over the Tinsukia-Namrup-Simaluguri mainline which is a single line section is blocked.

As a result of this derailment the following trains have either been diverted via Simaluguri-Sibsagar Town-Dibrugah section or partially cancelled/cancelled as detailed below:

  1. 14056 Delhi-Dibrugarh Brahmaputra mail which started on December 6  will be diverted via Simaluguri – Sibsagar Town – Dibrugarh.
  2. 14056 Delhi-Dibrugarh Brahmaputra mail which started on December 6 will be diverted via Simaluguri – Sibsagar Town – Dibrugarh.
  3. 14055 Dibrugarh – Delhi Brahmaputra mail Sunday will be diverted via Dibrugarh – Sibsagar Town – Simaluguri.
  4. 12423 Dibrugarh – New Delhi Rajdhani Express of Sunday will be diverted via Dibrugarh – Sibsagar Town – Simaluguri.
  5. 12424 New Delhi – Dibrugarh Rajdhani Express which started on Saturday will be diverted via Simaluguri – Sibsagar Town – Dibrugarh.
  6. 15930 Dibrugarh – Tambaram express of Sunday will be diverted via Dibrugarh – Sibsagar Town – Simaluguri.
  7. 15959 Howrah – Dibrugarh Kamrup Express which started on Saturday will be diverted via Simaluguri – Sibsagar Town – Dibrugarh.
  8. 15603 Guwahati- Ledo Intercity Express of Saturday will be diverted via Simaluguri – Sibsagar Town – Dibrugah-Ledo.
  9. 15941 Jhajha -Dibrugarh express which started on Friday will be diverted via Simaluguri – Sibsagar Town – Dibrugarh.
  10. 15909 Dibrugarh – Lalgarh Avadh Assam express of Sunday will be diverted via Dibrugarh – Sibsagar Town – Simaluguri.
  11. 15929 Tambaram – Dibrugarh Express which started on December 5 will be diverted via Simaluguri – Sibsagar Town – Dibrugarh.
  12. 15910 Lalgarh -Dibrugarh Avadh Assam express which started on Friday will be diverted via Simaluguri – Sibsagar Town – Dibrugarh.
  13. 15604 Ledo – Guwahati Intercity express of Sunday will be diverted via Ledo- Dibrugah – Sibsagar Town – Simaluguri.
  14. 15967 Rangiya- Dibrugarh Intercity express of Sunday will be diverted via Dibrugarh – Sibsagar Town – Simaluguri.
  15. 15960 Dibrugarh – Howrah Kamrup express of Sunday will be diverted via Dibrugarh – Sibsagar Town – Simaluguri.
  16. 13282 Rajendranagar – New Tinsukia express of 07.12.19 will be diverted via Simaluguri – Sibsagar Town – Dibrugarh -New Tinsukia.
  17. 55901 Lumding- Tinsukia passenger of Sunday will remain partially cancelled between Mariani and Tinsukia.
  18. 55902 Tinsukia- Lumding passenger of 08.12.19 will start from Mariani and remain cancelled between Mariani and Tinsukia.
  19. 55914 Tinsukia – Jorhat Town passenger of Sunday will remain cancelled.

This was stated in a press release issued by N F Railway.

Meanwhile, accident relief trains with crane have already reached the site from Tinsukia.

Another relief train from Lumding is expected to reach the site shortly to start track clearance work.

Senior railway officials from Tinsukia division are already at site monitoring work, the release added.
