Dalmia Cement Bharat Ltd. on Sunday today contributed Rs 25 lakhs each towards Assam CM Relief Fund and National Health Mission (NHM).

The contribution has been made to assist the government in its fight against COVID-19.

The cheque was handed over by company officials to Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Speaking about their contribution, Ujjwal Batria, COO, Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Ltd.  said, “These are difficult times for the nation and for the world.”

“We at Dalmia Cement have come forward to make a humble contribution to the state, so as to join the fight against COVID-19,” he added.

“We are happy to see that both individuals and organisations are coming forward to help the needy in this adverse time,” he further said.

“We, as an organisation are trying our best to help and contribute towards this fight in every way possible,” Batria added.

“We are sure we can win over this situation through everyone’s support and cooperation,” he added.

Apart from this, the company is contributing in various other ways.

The essential ration is being distributed to daily wage workers at Lanka with the help of the local police and district authority.

The company has taught 20 women have been trained to make masks and stitching machines have been provided in a “Silai School’ program with the technical support of USHA international Ltd. in Jagiroad.

Dalmia Cement has also contributed Rs 50 lakhs towards Meghalaya CM Relief Fund as well.
