A team of bicycle-riders from Dimapur in Nagaland under Eat Right India campaign of Swachh Bharat Yatra, an initiative of Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), reached Diphu in Karbi Anglong district here on Thursday morning. They were received at Diphu Club by the Karbi Anglong district administration.

The campaign was flagged off on World Food Day on October 16 from New Delhi. The North east team/region started from Agartala in Tripura on the same day. On each stoppage the team is replaced by a new team of cyclists to finish the journey. The team from Dimapur has 40 men and women cyclists in it. They will be here till November 10. New cyclists from Diphu will join the team at Hojai.

On Friday, the Eat Right India team will conduct jogging/walking in the morning; take pledge of Eat Right India then organize awareness campaign programmes and cultural exchange.

Executive Member, health & family welfare, Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), Khansing Rongpi; Additional Deputy Commissioner Junmoni Sonowal and other government officials received the team from Dimapur. They were felicitated with Karbi traditional turban and given certificate of appreciation for being part of the campaign. Assistant Director, FSSAI, Prasant Kumar Mishra is also in the team.
