New Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on May 13, 2021 visited three Satras in Majuli allegedly violating the Covid19 protocols issued by the administration.
On that day, a youth from Majuli, who was declared Covid19 positive, was also moving with the chief minister.

According to sources, as chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma reached Jengraimukh in Majuli, the Covid19 positive youth felicitated the chief minister and Lakhimpur MP Pradan Baruah with gamusas.
The youth also sought blessings of the chief minister by touching his feet, sources said.
The Covid19 positive youth has been identified as Hariprasad Pegu.

He tested positive for Covid19 on May 12, 2021.
He then signed papers with a promise to put himself in home isolation.
But the next day on May 13, he participated in the functions of the Assam chief minister by violating the Covid19 protocol.
However, the police are yet to take action against the youth.
On being informed about the incident, the executive magistrate of Majuli, Bibhash Pathak has lodged a case (No 36/21) at Jengraimukh police station under sections 188/269/270/336 of the IPC.
Pathak told the media about the development.
He confirmed that the Covid19 positive youth attended the functions of the Assam chief minister.
Now, question has been raised how the youth could enter the functions of the chief minister?
Whether the people, who were present in the functions of the chief minister, did not undergo test for Covid19?
The youth had spread Covid19 infection to how many people?
