Four more positive patients have succumbed to COVID19 infections in Assam on Monday, taking the state’s death toll to 109.
Sharing the news on his Twitter handle on Monday, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said: “Always painful to lose your own.”
The victims are from Kamrup Metro, Sivasagar, Tinsukia and Dibrugarh districts, the health minister said.
Health minister Sarma said the COVID19 victims are 45-year-old Subrata Patra from Kamrup Metro district, 65-year-old Haren Mahanta from Sivasagar district, 53-year-old Sukendra Kumar Tanti from Tinsukia and 80-year-old Madan Dutta from Dibrugarh district.
Assam so far has registered a total of 42,904 COVID19 positive cases.
With the death of 4 more positive cases, Assam currently has 10,408 active cases while 3 cases migrated from the state.
A total of 32,384 patients, who were earlier infected by COVID19, have been discharged from various hospitals and Covid Care Centres across Assam after they tested negative for the virus.
