Assam has registered 9 more COVID19 positive cases taking the state’s total to 783.
Confirming the news, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet at 11.45 pm on Wednesday said the infected patients are from Hojai, Nagaon, Morigaon, Kamrup Metro and Jorhat districts.

The health minister informed that a total of 5 persons have tested positive for COVID19 in Hojai while 4 other infected persons are from Kamrup Metro, Jorhat, Morigaon and Nagaon.
“Alert ~ 9 new cases of #COVID19+ reported. 5 Hojai, 1 Nagaon, 1 Morigaon, 1 Kamrup Metro, 1 Jorhat,” health minister Sarma tweeted.
With the new cases, the number of active cases in Assam stands at 689.

The deadly disease has so far claimed the lives of 4 persons while 3 cases migrated.

On Wednesday, a total of 25 COVID19 patients were discharged from various hospitals in Assam.
While 22 cured persons were discharged from the Mahendra Mohan Choudhury Hospital at Panbazar in Guwahati, 2 others were discharged from the Silchar Medical College Hospital (SMCH) and 1 patient was discharged from the Jorhat Medical College Hospital (JMCH).
With the 22 persons discharged on Wednesday, the total number of discharged patients from the hospitals across Assam stands at 87.
The Union health ministry on Wednesday said the death toll reached 4,337 and the number of cases rose to 1,51,767 in the country.
According to the ministry’s data, a total of 6,387 new cases of COVID19 infection and 170 deaths were reported in a 24-hour span till Wednesday 8 am.
